30 May - FCA Awards Night - 6pm meet at O'Connors, Hall St (off Moulsham St)
18 April - FCA blew away relegated Stelphick without breaking much of a sweat this week and even with 3 of last week's back 4 missing were rarely troubled at the back. Goals came in the shape of Keith Seeman, 2 more headers for Matt 'Betsy' Cawston and two much-debated goals from the in form Sean Luchmun. The dubious goals panel decided to attribute the goals to Mr Luchmun after receiving a heartfelt plea in his best handwriting.
Final score Amarillo 5 - 1 Stelphick
BRING ON NEXT SEASON!
11 April - A strong Amarillo side brushed away Bellhouse Airtech in windy conditions at Melbourne today. Two goals from Matt Cawston was enough to provide a 2-1 victory although in reality this scoreline flattered the opposition, as a handful of Amarillo players spurned good chances.
28 March - A battling performance led to FCA running out 3-1 winners versus old rivals Coyles despite playing much of the game a man short. Goals came from Matt Cawston 2 & Sean Luchmun in his first game back from injury.
21 March - An unfit FC Amarillo side went down 5-3 to Chelmer Wanderers this Sunday, goals came in the shape of Sam Gilbert (2) and Matt Cawston.
7 March - Amarillo beat Stelphick 2-0 at Chelmer Park, goals came in the form of Sam Mears and Keith Seeman from 2 Sam Gilbert assists.
14 February - Woodham Ath Vs FCA
Amarillo suffered a 1-0 defeat against a resolute Woodham side who took advantage of a ten man side for the 2nd week in a row. The yellows will be bouyed by the returns of 5 first teamers in the coming weeks.
7 February - With ten men for much of the first half including a first game since '08 for Sam Gilbert, Amarillo pulled off a magnificent team victory with a 2-1 away win at Vorranova. Dominic Whittaker's introduction changed the yellows' fortunes and two goals from young starlet Rocky Whittaker was enough to seal victory after a magnificent defensive display, particularly from the best goalkeeper in the league, Richard Bonner. Renewed spirit in the camp!
24 January - FCA went down 6-2 to reigning champions, favourites and county cup champions Wickbeech this Sunday holding them 1-1 til the final 3rd of the game. A valiant effort from an ever improving young version of the side. Returns of Luchmun, Blowers, S.Gilbert, J.Burdett, C.Seeman, Mickelburgh , Cawston and Chegwidden are moving ever closer as Amarillo prepare for a strong finish to the season. Golas came from Scott Wells and Dom Whittaker. MOM Tim Burdett
20 January - Training Resumes Weds 6.30pm-8pm
St. Peters College,
Fox Crescent,
Chelmsford
Essex
CM1 2BL
10 January - POSTPONED
20 December - POSTPONED
13 December - Sadly, an injury ravaged Amarillo bowed out of the county cup against a physical Pyramids side... the curse continued as Kealan Bolton and Keith Seeman clashed heads resulting in a trip to Broomfield for the Amarillo veteran. 10 men for 65 minutes battled bravely but the task was too much for the side. Stand out performance from Chris Baraka Seeman (3-0)
29 November - FCA narrowly scraped a much needed 3-2 win vs Diamond Red Stars on a slippery Melbourne Park this Sunday. The yellows went into the 2nd half with a commanding 3-0 lead with goals from Matt Cawston from the penalty spot, Keith Seeman and left back Andy Smith. A World class save from Irishman Kealan Bolton preserved the first half lead and were it not for Bolton's second half performance the 3 points could well have been shared as Red Stars pulled back two goals and dominated much of the play. Fitness, training and the return of injured players are much needed if the 'Rillos are going to pick up some silverware this season.
15 November - A magnificent effort from an Amarillo side still missing 10+ players saw the yellows avenge the league defeat of last week. A brace from Rocky 'Tino Asprilla' Whittaker, and a freak goal from right back Keith Seeman was enough to see the sides go into ET. In the extended period Scott Wells scored a well placed right foot shot to give the Marksmen the lead only for Coyles to claw back once more. A penalty shoot out decided the game with Amarillo running out narrow 3-2 winners. The management looks forward to a 2 week break, hopeful a few first team regulars will return to action for the Diamond Red Stars game.
*Special mention* to Irishman Kealan Bolton who played his best game for Amarillo, putting in some incredibly brave challenges.
8 November - Amarillo lost this league fixture 4-1, away at the hands of second placed Coyles with a bare 11 for the 4th week in a row. With around 18 players unavailable through injury and suspensions, it was a valiant effort from a mixture of youth and debutants. Outstanding performance from right back and first gamer - Jamie Bearman.
1 November - Amarillo flew into the plate with a 7-2 defeat at the hands of Vorranova on this dreary November weekend. Credit goes to the 9 men that turned out and MOM Glen Fowler.
18 October - FCA took on high flying, former CDSSL champions Bellhouse at Rayleigh Boys FC on Sunday and lost in a close game after some freak goals and a powerful Bellhouse strike force proved too much for the yellows. Matt Cawston scored the Amarillo goal.
11 October - FCA took on a reformed Chelmer Wanderers side at Slade's Lane and in an even match came out second best due to some sloppy finishing and defensive uncertainty. The failure to show up of 2 established centre backs certainly played a part and this, combined with the early injury to Mr Reliable, Lee Blowers (collarbone) had a devastating effect on the Yellows' organisation. A late injury to Scott Wells (hamstring) and the dismissal of Andy Smith meant the yellows finished the game with 9 men. A dismal afternoon matched by the weather. Monsieurs Coker and Hearne will be looking at the transfer market to solve the centre back crisis this week! Final score 4-2 (M.Cawston, C.Fowler)
4 October - A confident Amarillo side went into this game knowing that only a win would be good enough - the result being a harsh introduction to life in the Premier Division for new boys Woodham Athletic as Amarillo strolled to a 5-0 victory. Goals came in the shape of debutants Sean Luchmun and 'Champagne Charlie' Fowler (2), Matt Cawston and Keith Seeman.
2 October - Check out the Amarillonians as youngsters! View Gallery
27 September - A young FC Amarillo side claimed an impressive 5-1 win with debuts from Greg and Robin Whittaker, Sean Luchmun, Andrew Rayner and James Murray. Goals came in the shape of an acrobatic Keith Seeman goal followed by a Matt Cawston brace and goals for teenage duo Charlie Fowler and Robin Whittaker. Manager David Coker has an envious selection headache for next Sunday's game at home to Woodham Athletic.
20 September - FCA lost 2-0 to the Champions, Wickbeech, away form home at Rayleigh Boys FC. The team held their own for long periods but failed to breakdown a resilient Wickbeech backline. A decent performance against this year's runaway favourites.
13 September - FCA drew 4-4 with a strong Vorranova side. Having led 4-2 with 10 mins to play the team felt a little downbeat with the result, especially after what can only be described as a failure to comply with the laws of the game by the referee having given a penalty for an off the ball incident which also resulted in the dismissal of captain Richard Bonner.
6 September - FCA beat a 22 man Chelmsford City Supporters side with a hattrick from Scott Wells, a wonder goal from Keith Seeman and a poke from Craig Mickleburgh who netted his first FCA goal.
6 September - Away Kit Prize Sponsorship Draw - Winner: Nigel Radcliffe Chemical Dependency Assessments (NRCDA) www.nigelradcliffe.co.uk
30th August - Amarillo started their preseason with a solid 1-1 draw with William De Ferrers. The goal came in the shape of a Matt Cawston opener. MOM Chris Seeman
Any problems ring Dave or Russ.

May 17th - Final game Vs Bellhouse Wanderers @ Melbourne Park. 1.30pm KO - Amarillo win 2-0 with goals from Adam Arkley and Garry Burdett.
May 10th - Amarillo were trounced by Diamond Red Stars 8-0. Worst performance in club's history. Luckily Rivermead lost to Loko Billericay ensuring our Premiership status.
May 6th - Sam Gilbert finally gets his anterior cruciate ligament fixed at the Princess Alexandra Hospital in Harlow. Looking to a January 2010 return.
May 3rd - Amarillo lost 5-3 in a good game of football Vs Loko Billericay with goals from Scott Wells, Adam Arkley and a screamer from Christian Seeman.
April 26th - FCA went down 4-0 to third placed Sevens FC.
April 19th - FCA drew 3-3 with Vorranova - goals from Adam Arkley and a brace from Scott Wells.
April 5th - FCA demolished Diamond Red Stars 4-1 with Adam Arkley bagging his second hattrick for the club and a wonder goal from Thomas Clarke.
March 29th - Amarillo started the game with 9 men, eventually 11 but suffered another heavy loss to Sevens. End result was 8-2 with Scott Wells bagging both Amarillo goals. Solid debut from Billy Thirkettle.
March 22nd - Amarillo 3 Rivermead 1 - A great win against fellow strugglers Rivermead. Hattrick from new boy Adam 'Gnarls' Arkley.
March 15th - Amarillo 0 Noaklands 5. A plucky Amarillo held title favourites 0-0 for 60 mins but unfortunately went behind after a few individual mistakes and lack of fitness kicked in. A valiant effort against a well drilled side.
Team: Bonner (c), Eagleton, T.Burdett, J.Burdett, Van Vliet, Gibson, L.Plane*, Alex Smith, K.Seeman, C.Seeman, Arkley
Subs: Clarke, Wardrop
March 8th - Amarillo Vs Loko Billericay - match abandoned
March 1st - Wickham Royals failed to show up gifting Amarillo 3 points.
February 22nd - Wickbeech steam rolled Amarillo in this game (8 zip) who weren't helped by going a man light through injuries. The less said the better!
Team: T.Burdett*, C.Seeman, G.Burdett (c), J.Burdett, Wells, Arkley, Whittaker, McCracken, L.Plane, Radcliffe, K.Seeman
Sub: Wardrop
January 17th - well done to all the fundraisers that made the night.
Special thanks to:-
Russ Hearne and Neptunes Table
Margaret & O'Connors
Domino's Pizza
& everyone else that contributed.
We raised some good money but we are still in need of more funds and players to pay off their remaining debt.
December 21st - The less said the better! With manager Sam Gilbert missing at his girlfriend's family xmas dinner ex-manager Tim Wardrop took over and let's just say there was ring rust all round. The end score was a 6-1 drubbing with a catalogue of individual errors separating the sides. MOM - Michael Sterry.
Team: R.Bonner (c), Eagleton, Gibson, J.Burdett, T.Burdett, C.Seeman, L.Plane, , Lew, D.Whittaker, Clarke
Sub: Sterry*
November 23rd - Amarillo shone on this day of extreme weather banging 3 goals past an experienced Rivermead side through John Burdett's diving header in the first half and two beatuiful long range strikes from Monsieurs Lew and Allen; the latter a particularly spectacular goal - a curling outside of the right boot strike into the top left hand corner from Matty Allen.
Credit must go to the defence who looked formidable and Dave Plane on the left wing who managed to swallow birthday yak 3 times throughout the game.
Next up Diamond Red Stars...
Team: R.Bonner, Eagleton, Flower, J.Burdett, T.Burdett, S.Gilbert, K.Seeman, Allen, Lew, C.Seeman, Plane*
Subs: A.Bonner
November 16th - FCA 1 Wickbeech 4
November 9th 2008 - FCA 3-0 Wickham Royals
November 2nd, 2008 - An understrength FCA side took a pounding from league favourites this Sunday. With several key players missing an early lead from good work by Allen and Lew couldn't be held and the onslaught began. A late Clarke goal from a John Burdett header was no more than a consolation, the end result an 8-2 hammering with Lew and Clarke the Amarillo scorers. The team now faces the bottom half of the table after a very tough start to life in the Premier Division.
Team: R.Bonner, Eagleton, Clarke, J.Burdett*, T.Burdett, Towey, Storey, K.Seeman, Allen, Lew, K.Seeman, Plane
Subs: J.Gilbert
Unused: S.Gilbert
October 26th, 2008 - FCA played Loko in a real scrappy tet á tet with the end result a 3-3 draw this Sunday which was probably just about a fair result. Goals for Amarillo came in the shape of Matthew Allen, Stephen Lew and a fine long range equaliser from debutant Oliver Storey.
Team: R.Bonner, Eagleton, Flower, J.Burdett, T.Burdett*, C.Seeman, Allen, Ade Smith, Whittaker, Lew, K.Seeman
Subs: Storey, A.Bonner, Plane
October 19th, 2008 - FCA beat top of division 1 side "The Knights" in a very one sided affair. Amarillo opened the scoring through Stephen Lew latching onto a Matty Allen through ball and soon notched another from a Jay Burdett long throw and Chris Seeman flick on. Half time saw FCA go in 2-0 up having played some sublime passing football. After the break Lew completed his hattrick by curling in the ball from a corner, an effort that the keeper could only parry into the net (although it had already crossed the line). The final goal came from a Richard Bonner clearance which Lew duly despatched to knock in his 4th goal and pick up the MOM award.
Team: Bonner, Eagleton, J.Burdett, Flower, T.Burdett, Whittaker, Towey, C.Seeman, Allen, K.Seeman, Lew*
Subs: Plane, Radcliffe
Unused sub: S.Gilbert
October 12th, 2008 - FCA could only field 9 men this Sunday Vs Sevens due to 3 no shows. Inevitably FCA lost but only very narrowly and for spells were arguably on top despite the numerical disadvantage. Injuries to Fowler, S.Gilbert and K.Seeman at one point saw us down to just 8. In the end only a controversial penalty separated the sides with Sevens narrowly winning 3-2. A magnificent display despite playing the majority of the 90 mins with 8 or 9 players. A serious recruitment and commitment campaign is now in place!
Team: Bonner*, Whittaker, Fowler, S.Gilbert, Flower, Towey, Allen, K.Seeman, Lew
Subs: Sterry, C.Seeman
October 5th, 2008 - Game with Wickham Royals abandoned after 15 minutes due to waterlogged pitch.
September 28th, 2008 - FCA comfortably beat a young Writtle B side 6-1 in the Essex Junior Trophy. Our reward is a game versus Sevens in the next round.
Team: Bonner (c), Eagleton, Plane, Flower, C.Seeman, Whittaker, Towey, S.Gilbert, K.Seeman, Allen, Lew*
Unused sub: Sterry
Goals: Lew 4, S.Gilbert, Allen
September 21st, 2008 - A patchwork Amarillo side went down 4-2 to reigning champions Bellhouse at Runwell this Sunday, with a lack of shape the prevalent reason for the leaking of four very similar goals.
Player manager Sam Gilbert scored a placed 'diving' header for The Marksmen in the 40th minute after a great cross from stand in captain Matty Allen, to make the scoreline 3-1 but a quick reply meant the yellows went in 4-1 down despite having played the more attractive football.
The second half was a similar story only Amarillo were more determined, managing like last week to win the second half 1-0. The goal came in the shape of a Jim Flower header after Jack Radcliffe managed to knock down a Sam Gilbert free kick. Again it was too little, too late and Amarillo will need to sort their defensive frailties urgently to keep themselves in this league.
Team: Fowler, Sinden, Van Vliet, Flower*, Plane, Whittaker, C.Seeman, S.Gilbert, K.Seeman, Allen, Lew, Radcliffe.
Goals: S.Gilbert, Flower
September 14th, 2008 - An injury plagued FCA lost 4-2 to last season's Essex Junior Trophy Winners in their first Premier Division outing. A good second half saw The Marksmen come out 2-1 on top but unfortunately the first half ended 3-0 to title contenders Wickbeech.
Team: Bonner, Morgan, T.Burdett, J.Burdett, Flower, Whittaker, Towey, S.Gilbert, Plane, Allen, Lew.
Subs: K.Seeman, C.Seeman*, Fowler
September 9th, 2008 - FCA beat a fit, young Purleigh side without really breaking a sweat, 3-1 at Melbourne Park. Great to see the return of Siva Van Vliet and a noticeable display from Danny Whittaker.
Team : Bonner, Van Vliet, J.Burdett, Flower, T.Burdett, Towey, J.Gilbert, S.Gilbert, Whittaker* C.Seeman, Radcliffe, Plane, S.Lew
Goals: S.Lew 2, S.Gilbert
August 24th, 2008 - FCA recorded an excellent result on Sunday with, by all accounts, a stand out performance from James "Crazy Horse" Flower - (a 1-0 win against Bromfords Reunion over at Rawreth Lane, Wickford).
Team: Bonner, Fowler, T.Burdett, Morgan, Flower*, D.Whittaker, Alex Smith, J.Gilbert, Towey, C.Seeman, K.Seeman, Allen, S.Lew
Goal: Allen
August 10th, 2008 - Congratulations on the victory yesterday fellas, a great win with a patchwork side! If you don't know we beat Maiden Utd (Essex Junior Trophy Finalists 07/08) 3-2 over at the Fairways Sport and Leisure Club in Harlow on Sunday (S.Lew 2, S.Gilbert).
Team: T.Burdett*, D.Whittaker, N.Radcliffe, S.Gilbert, D.Plane, J.Radcliffe, K.Seeman, O.Storey, T.Wardrop, S.Lew, M.Allen sub: C.Seeman
Special mention for 56 year old Nigel 'Baresi' Radcliffe (Jack's dad) who played 90 mins for us and didn't let us down once!
July 29th, 2008 - FCA will now train at Basildon's Gloucester Park Astro from 8.30pm-10pm on Tuesday nights. £3 subs are required and the postcode for you Sat Nav enthusiasts is SS14 3DE.
July 27th, 2008 - FCA had three sides playing 5 a sides on Sunday (& still had 10+ away or injured!) with one of the teams playing in the Clic Sargents UK legends finals at England's training ground, Bisham Abbey and two sides in the Little Havens Children's Charity 5-A-Side at William De Ferrers School. All teams did well with the Legends tournament side getting down to the final 4 in the UK. Players on the day included Glen Fowler, Sam Gilbert, Matty Allen and Steve Lew with Ade Smith and Paul Sullivan also in the side. Both teams also did well in the Little Havens tournament but the furthest we got was a quarter final spot. Players on the day: Lewis, J.Gilbert, Alex Smith, Nunn, Radcliffe, King, K.Seeman, C.Seeman, D.Whittaker, Di Giorgio & D.Plane.
June 24th, 2008 - FCA officially become members of the CDSSL Premier Division after the CDSSL AGM. Time to shape up!
